Gerty

Gerty is a private AI assistant designed specifically for Mac users who seek a secure, offline, and easy-to-use alternative to cloud-based ChatGPT. It autonomously measures your Mac's capabilities, selects the most suitable open-source models for tasks like chatting, writing, coding, understanding, and image creation, then downloads and configures them seamlessly—no terminal or technical setup required. With Gerty, users can interact with their AI via voice commands, integrate it with documents, emails, and calendars, and review all changes before execution, ensuring complete control and privacy. Its offline operation and no-account policy make it ideal for privacy-conscious individuals, developers, or teams wanting a powerful AI tool without reliance on cloud services. The straightforward licensing at CHF 49 for three Macs and a 7-day free trial makes it accessible for personal and small business use.
