Capitol Alpha Machine

Capitol Alpha Machine offers a unique set of free macOS screensavers inspired by real U.S. congressional stock-trading disclosures. Featuring three distinct visualizations—The Ledger, Returns Spectrum, and Policy Proximity—each screensaver transforms complex congressional data into striking black-and-white generative art reminiscent of Ryoji Ikeda’s minimalist style. The Ledger displays live-disclosed trades as a scrolling register, while Returns Spectrum visualizes trade timing and returns as a spectrogram, and Policy Proximity maps committee jurisdictions against sectors traded by members. Designed for users interested in data visualization, political transparency, or digital art, Capitol Alpha Machine combines technical intrigue with aesthetic appeal. It appeals to data enthusiasts, political observers, and digital art lovers seeking a thought-provoking, minimalist aesthetic on their Mac screens. Its innovative use of real congressional trade data makes it a distinctive choice for those interested in transparency and data-driven art.
